Kempinski Seychelles Resort is a large, family-friendly five-star beach resort on Baie Lazare, in the south of Mahé.
The resort spreads across a hillside above Baie Lazare, a quiet bay on Mahé’s southwest coast, at the foot of the granite peak it calls Mount Kempinski. The plantation-style buildings, recently refurbished, hold around 148 rooms and suites, most with a balcony or terrace and a sea or hill view.
Rooms run from Hill View and Sea View categories to one-bedroom suites, with a focus on space and comfort rather than private pools. Dining centers on the all-day Café Lazare and the Asian L’Indochine, with the Planters and Windsong bars for drinks and live music.
It is family-friendly as much as romantic, with a large pool, a spa, a kids’ club, and a mountain hiking trail, and it works for couples, gay or straight, after a relaxed beach base. Baie Lazare is quiet and scenic, about 30 minutes from the airport.

Dining
Café Lazare is an all-day restaurant, with a buffet breakfast and themed buffet dinners running through Creole and international food. L’Indochine handles Asian cooking in a more intimate setting. For drinks, Planters Bar and Lounge runs afternoon tea and live music in the evenings, while the Windsong Bar pours cocktails closer to the beach. Dining is varied and family-friendly rather than fine-dining-led.
Wellness
Kempinski The Spa is set at the foot of the Baie Lazare granite formation, with a menu of classic treatments and longer therapies. At the heart of the resort is an Olympic-length pool with an ocean view, backed by a 24-hour fitness studio with lagoon views and daily classes. Beyond the resort, the Mount Kempinski trail gives keen walkers a route up into the hills and the island’s forest.
Location
Kempinski is on Baie Lazare, a sheltered bay on the quieter southwest coast of Mahé, set between a granite mountain and the Indian Ocean. It is one of the more secluded parts of the island, away from the busier northern beaches, with a long beach and calm, scenic surroundings. Baie Lazare village and a few local restaurants are close by, and Seychelles International Airport is about 30 minutes north by car.
