Five years of restoration have transformed a forgotten sanatorium into MANNA, one of Greece’s most unexpected luxury escapes in the mountains of Arcadia.
Previously a sanatorium, MANNA has been restored with the kind of care and reverence the building deserves. Design teams K-Studio and Monogon Office of Architecture worked alongside archaeologists to preserve the soul of this listed building while introducing considered contemporary interiors, where heritage architecture and modern design sit in rare, intentional harmony.
Beyond the walls, Arcadia delivers on its almost mythological reputation. Ancient fir forests, crystal-clear rivers and mountain lakes form the backdrop for an extraordinary range of experiences, from mushroom foraging and horse riding to canoeing and mountain biking.
This is a landscape long associated with healing and freedom, and MANNA has built its entire philosophy around those qualities. For Out Of Office guests seeking something beyond the conventional luxury hotel, it represents one of Europe’s most compelling new openings.

The In The Forest room is a cozy and intimate retreat for two, designed to immerse guests in the sights and scents of the ancient Mainalon fir forest. With a king size bed, rain shower, in-ground heating, and luxury sustainable bathroom amenities, every comfort has been considered. Floor-to-ceiling forest views ensure the natural world remains front and center throughout your stay.
Superior Mountain View
The Superior Mountain View room is designed for guests who want nature’s full spectacle on their doorstep. A private balcony or deck frames sweeping views across the lily pond and the virgin fir forests of Mainalos mountain, while inside, a king-size bed, rain shower, in-ground heating, and luxury sustainable bathroom amenities ensure the experience is as comfortable as it is breathtaking.
The Manna Suite
The Manna Suite is the property’s most expansive option, with 52-55sqm of space that blends contemporary design with the original architectural character of the 1929 building. Panoramic views across the pond and ancient fir forest set the scene, while a freestanding copper bathtub, king-size bed, rain shower, and in-ground heating make this a genuinely indulgent base for exploring Arcadia.

MANNA’s restaurant is overseen by award-winning chef Athinagoras Kostakos, whose creative approach to Mediterranean and Greek cuisine has earned serious acclaim.
Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the kitchen draws exclusively on local, high-quality produce to deliver dishes that are as nourishing as they are thought through. It is the kind of dining experience that feels entirely of its place, rooted in the landscape and traditions of Arcadia.
The Spa and Gym
Inspired by the healing landscape that surrounds it, the MANNA wellness hub is designed to restore both body and mind. Guests can unwind in the steam room and sauna, take to the atmospheric cave pool, or find stillness through yoga sessions in nature or beside an indoor fireplace.
A fully equipped gym rounds out an offering that feels top quality and the perfect place to relax and forget about day-to-day life.
Restoration
Built in 1929 as a tuberculosis sanatorium and left derelict for over eight decades, MANNA was restored by Athens entrepreneur Stratis Batagias, who had camped near the crumbling building as a child.
K-Studio transformed it into a 32-room five-star wellness retreat using local stone, chestnut wood, and terrazzo, preserving the original neoclassical structure while integrating sustainable luxury deep in the Peloponnese forest.
