The Capaldi sits in a former olive farm of ten acres in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, a 35-minute drive from Marrakech. It is run by Ed and Tara Lyle, who live on the property and are present throughout a stay.
The 23 rooms and suites are spread across the estate alongside two private villas, two pools, a spa and hammam, a restaurant and a 24-seat cinema with free screenings from a film library that includes recent releases and live sports. There are no televisions in the rooms. Children under 12 are not accepted.
The hotel gives back to the local community through charitable ventures including a relief fund for victims of the 2023 earthquake, whose epicentre was an hour away and caused significant damage to surrounding villages.
Lalla Takerkoust Lake is five minutes away, and Amizmiz, the main departure point for treks to Mount Toubkal, is a short drive.

Accommodation
Farmhouse
Rooms sit in the original mud-brick building, each with a king-size bed, an open fireplace, a sitting area and an en-suite bathroom finished in tadelakt plaster with traditional Moroccan tilework.
The Standard Farmhouse rooms overlook the palm garden in the courtyard. The Farmhouse Terrace rooms are on the ground floor with private terraces looking onto the gardens.
Prestige Rooms
The Prestige Rooms are more spacious. Located close to the reception, they overlook the courtyard. The rooms come with a separate dressing area beside the bedroom.
Atlas Rooms
The Atlas Rooms have Juliet balconies with views of the Atlas Mountains, the gardens and the pool.
Interiors follow the same Moroccan-Zen approach as all rooms on the property, with king-size beds, silk pillows, lanterns and tadelakt bathrooms, most with a window-facing bathtub.
Superior Farmhouse With Terrace
The Superior Farmhouse suites are on the first floor with a private roof terrace offering Atlas Mountain views.
The terrace works well for a private dinner under the stars and can be arranged with the hotel on request.
Deluxe Suites
The Deluxe Suites are set in bungalows within the gardens, each with an open fireplace and a private terrace.
Upgrading to a Deluxe Pool Suite adds a private heated pool within a walled garden, making it the most private configuration on the estate.
Private Villas
The two Private Villas adjoin the main hotel and offer the most space and separation available at The Capaldi, with full access to all hotel facilities throughout the stay.

Food & Drink
The restaurant at The Capaldi serves Mediterranean dishes and international cuisine, with breakfast included in the rate.
Breakfast is served in the communal lounge or by the fireplace and runs from a continental spread to dishes cooked to order. Lunch can be taken poolside or on the terrace.
In the evening, the kitchen adapts freely to guest preferences, and private dinners on the rooftop terrace or in the gardens can be arranged on request.
The bar is stocked and available throughout the day and evening.
Spa & Wellness
The spa at The Capaldi is an intimate space with a black marble hammam, black tadelakt reception and rose-filled orange oil baths.
It sits on the first floor with views over the gardens and toward the Atlas Mountains and Mount Toubkal. A hot tub and massage room complete the offering.
The two pools, one of which is heated year-round, are the main outdoor focal points. The fitness room is available throughout the stay.
Activities available from the property include hiking in the Atlas Mountains, day trips to Marrakech, camel riding and dune buggying in the Agafay Desert, and guided walks to Lalla Takerkoust Lake and the surrounding villages.
