At a glance

Argentina and Uruguay offer one of South America’s most compelling journeys, combining grand cities, world-class wine regions, Atlantic beaches and two countries with a rich LGBTQ+ history.

Begin in Buenos Aires, Argentina’s elegant capital, where European architecture, historic cafés and distinctive neighborhoods reveal the many layers of the city.

Discover the legacy of Eva Perón, whose rise from a small-town actress to one of Argentina’s most influential figures shaped the country’s political and cultural identity. Visit the Casa Rosada, where she delivered some of her most famous speeches, then explore the cobbled streets of San Telmo, the tango halls that keep the city’s most iconic tradition alive, and Palermo’s restaurants, galleries and boutiques. Buenos Aires is also one of Latin America’s most established LGBTQ+ destinations, with a thriving scene shaped by decades of activism, creativity and community.

Travel west to Mendoza, Argentina’s celebrated wine region, where the Andes create a spectacular backdrop for vineyard experiences and exceptional cuisine. Spend your days discovering family-run wineries, tasting renowned Malbec and enjoying long lunches surrounded by mountain views.

Continue to Uruguay, where the pace slows and the landscape shifts from city energy to wide Atlantic beaches and peaceful coastal towns.

In Montevideo, explore the historic Ciudad Vieja, discover the city’s café culture and walk the Rambla, the waterfront that has shaped daily life for generations. Then head east to Punta del Este, Uruguay’s glamorous seaside retreat, known for its golden beaches, contemporary art, oceanfront dining and summer scene that attracts travelers from across South America.

For a more relaxed side of the country, visit the bohemian coastal village of José Ignacio, where barefoot beach days, exceptional restaurants and a laid-back atmosphere have made it one of Uruguay’s most sought-after escapes.

Designed for LGBTQ+ travelers, this tailor-made journey brings together Argentina and Uruguay through their food, wine, culture and landscapes, revealing two of South America’s most fascinating destinations.

Northern Argentina: Salta, Jujuy & the Andes

Northern Argentina feels very different from Buenos Aires, Mendoza or Patagonia. Indigenous traditions are more visible too, particularly across Jujuy and the Quebrada de Humahuaca. Begin in Salta, one of Argentina’s best-preserved colonial cities, with arcaded buildings, elaborate churches and a strong regional food culture.
