Embark on an enchanting journey through France’s most iconic wine regions with our meticulously curated French Vineyards getaway. This 10-day adventure takes you from the romantic streets of Paris to the historic vineyards of Champagne, through the majestic Loire Valley and Bordeaux, and finally to the picturesque landscapes of Provence.

Your journey begins in Paris, the famous “City of Lights”. In the heart of the Latin Quarter, indulge in an intimate wine-tasting session where a local expert will guide you through France’s diverse wine regions. From Burgundy reds to champagne from Champagne, your palate will travel across the country in just one evening.

Wake up to a journey to Champagne, the birthplace of the world’s most celebrated sparkling wine. Explore the vineyards with a private tour, delve into historic cellars, and savor the region’s finest champagnes. A visit to Reims follows, where you’ll marvel at the grandeur of its Gothic cathedral and delve into its rich historical tapestry.

The Loire Valley then awaits with its stunning chateaus and vineyards. In Chinon, immerse yourself in history at the Chateau de Chinon, which once hosted Joan of Arc, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Vienne River. Your wine journey continues in the underground cellars of Bouvet Ladubay, tasting their exquisite sparkling wines.

In Bordeaux, a city synonymous with fine wine, you’ll be whisked to a luxury hotel before exploring the prestigious Médoc winery, Château Margaux. Dine at the historic Le Chapon Fin, known for its vast selection of Bordeaux wines. A day trip to Saint-Émilion, a UNESCO World Heritage site, will deepen your appreciation for Bordeaux’s winemaking prowess.

The final leg of your tour takes you to Provence, in the charming village of Menerbes. Engage in a unique truffle hunt, dine at the House of Truffles, and explore the renowned vineyards, including a visit to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This region, once the seat of the papacy, now beckons with its exquisite wines and stunning scenery.

In detail

? Don't forget that most of our itineraries can be totally customized. Our expert team will be able to talk you through all the options.

Day 1-3 Paris

When you arrive at the airport your driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Take a trip to the famous Champs-Elysees and walk towards Place de la Concorde. This leisurely stroll along the boulevards is a must when you’re in Paris.

You’ll join a wine-tasting session in the Latin Quarter, within walking distance of your hotel. You’ll sample different wines from France’s various wine regions without leaving Paris. A local English-speaking wine expert will introduce you to a great selection, including Burgundy reds and champagne from – where else? – Champagne.

Over a two-hour session, you’ll learn and taste a lot of fine wines. You may even be tempted to buy a bottle of your favorite wine so you can toast to your French Vineyard getaway back at the hotel.

Day 1-3 Paris

Day 4 Champagne

Wake up bright and early (and hopefully not too hungover). This morning you’ll be heading to Champagne, just two hours out of Paris. Here you’ll enjoy a private tour of the local vineyards. You’ll then be heading underground to explore the cellars where you’ll taste a selection of the champagnes.

It’ll then be time to head to Reims for lunch, where you’ll also be able to visit the famous cathedral, built over eight hundred years ago. It’s a masterpiece of French Gothic architecture – 25 French Kings were crowned here, the last in 1825. Reims had the misfortune of being right by the front line during WW1 and it endured heavy shelling. During WW2, Eisenhower set up his headquarters here. It’s a place of great historical significance.

You’ll then travel back to Paris.

Day 4 Champagne

Day 5-6 Chinon

It’ll be time to say adieu to Paris and take a train to the Loire Valley. Your driver will pick you up and take you to your chateau in Chinon.

In the Loire Valley, you will find many castles from the Early Modern period. Take a trip to the Chateau de Chinon. This castle once hosted Joan Of Arc, France’s most iconic heroine. Here you’ll see great views of the Vienne River.

You’ll then explore the Bouvet Ladubay wine cellars, located under the ruins of St Florent Abbey. You’ll taste their celebrated sparkling wines from one of the 1200 oak barrels of vintage cuvées, prepared in the “Methode Traditionnelle”.

Day 5-6 Chinon

Day 6-8 Bordeaux

Arrive in Bordeaux where you’ll be whisked away to your luxury hotel. On your first day, you’ll visit a prestigious Médoc winery, the Château Margaux, where you’ll taste their famous Premier Grand Cru Classé wine and enjoy a tour of the vineyards.

In the evening, you’ll enjoy dinner at Le Chapon Fin, a historic restaurant located in the heart of Bordeaux, famous for its extensive selection of local Bordeaux wines.

On your second day, you’ll head to Saint-Émilion, a charming UNESCO World Heritage site, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the winery and a wonderful wine tasting.

Day 6-8 Bordeaux

Day 8-10 Menerbes, Provence

You’ll take an early morning train to Avignon, where your driver will meet you and take you to your hotel.

Menerbes is a beautiful village. It has been the site of many conflicts during the Wars of Religion, but it’s very well preserved. Nostradamus himself was even a big fan.

On your first day, you’ll be setting off on a truffle hunt with a local truffle hunter. In the evening you’ll wine and dine at the House of Truffles. This building was restored by Menerbes’ former mayor, Yves Rousset-Rouard. As well as being the local mayor, he also produced the famous erotic film, Emmanuelle.

You’ll then head to the vineyards for a guided tour of Provence’s wine region and taste some amazing wines. This tour includes a trip to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Curiously, this part of France was once the seat of the papacy.

Day 8-10 Menerbes, Provence

Day 10 Departure

You’ll be transferred to the station to take a train to Nice. In Nice, a driver will meet you and take you to the airport for your return flight.
