Gay Honeymoons In Mauritius

If you're thinking about planning a gay honeymoon in Mauritius, it is one of the most idyllic islands in the Indian Ocean and one of our most popular destinations.

We recommend

The island is known as one of the most romantic destinations on the planet for a gay honeymoon. Along with Maldives and Seychelles, it's undoubtedly one of our favourites for a honeymoon.

While the Maldives and Seychelles are comprised of many islands, Mauritius is one island with a diverse range of activities and nature. It is packed with excellent hotels and resorts but also has many activities with the Black River Gorges National park home to some incredible wildlife and plants.

There are many luxury properties to choose from, all of which we have handpicked for their welcoming nature. We recognise that planning a honeymoon is one of the most important decisions of your life and we are on hand to provide the best advice to help you navigate the abundance of choice.

It's a great choice if you want to experience luxury on a paradise island, along with a broader array of amenities and things to do. Here's our guide to gay and lesbian honeymoons in Mauritius.

Gay Honeymoons In Mauritius

Mauritius was the last known habitat of the dodo. Mark Twain once said that heaven was based on Mauritius. When the Dutch first arrives, they believed they’d discovered the Garden of Eden. In short, Mauritius has long been considered a tropical paradise. It attracts around 1.3 million people every year

The island is home to some of the world’s finest beaches. Long stretches of soft white sand crystal clear water are surrounded by coral reefs. Mauritius offers more than Robinson Crusoe seclusion, though. You can engage in a wide range of activities, including water sports, zip-lining, horseback riding and more.

The main tourist area of the island is centred around Grand Baie and Trou Aux Biches. Here you’ll find many of Mauritius’ finest luxury hotels and lots of excellent places to eat. You can also visit the island’s tiny capital, Port Louis, on the western side. If you like to hike you can explore some of the most idyllic landscapes known to man, including the UNESCO world heritage site, Le Morne Brabant.

Combine Mauritius with South Africa

Mauritius is a paradise island located off the east coast of Africa. It’s roughly 500 miles away from Madagascar. It’s roughly a four hour flight from Johannesburg. Combining a gay honeymoon in South Africa with Mauritius is one of our most popular twin-centre itineraries.

You can have a full legal gay wedding in South Africa. It’s rapidly becoming one our top wedding destinations. Having Table Mountain in the background of your wedding pictures is pretty impressive. After your South Africa wedding, you can visit the Winelands, set out on a safari and explore the bright lights of Cape Town.

From your honeymoon, you can then fly out to Mauritius from Johannesburg. This will make for a flawless wedding and honeymoon itinerary. Rounding your trip off with a romantic stay in a stunning island is the way to do it, and few islands are more appealing than Mauritius.
