What We Recommend For Romance In the Caribbean
The Caribbean is one of the most romantic destinations on the planet for a honeymoon. While LGBTQ+ rights and attitudes vary across the region, several islands stand out as welcoming and inclusive destinations where gay couples can relax in complete comfort. Islands like Aruba, Curaçao, Puerto Rico, and St. Barts have well-established LGBTQ+-friendly resorts. Whether you’re looking for a private beachfront villa, a spa retreat, or a stylish adults-only resort, the Caribbean has plenty of choices for a gay honeymoon.
The Caribbean is a dream honeymoon destination with its crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and warm tropical climate. Many resorts cater specifically to honeymooners with all-inclusive packages, private dining experiences, and spa treatments designed for two.
For couples seeking a more exclusive experience, the private island resorts of Mustique, the boutique retreats of Anguilla, or the high-end beachfront hotels of Barbados are worth considering. These islands have some of the finest luxury resorts in the Caribbean, including Belmond Cap Juluca in Anguilla, The House in Barbados, and the ultra-exclusive Eden Rock in St. Barts. Many of these properties offer honeymoon perks, from champagne on arrival and private candlelit dinners on the beach to couples’ spa treatments and yacht charters.
Beyond the beaches, the Caribbean offers incredible experiences that add a sense of adventure to your honeymoon. From sunset catamaran cruises in Aruba and snorkeling in Curaçao’s Blue Room caves to exploring the cobbled streets of Old San Juan in Puerto Rico or dining in world-class restaurants in St. Barts, there’s no shortage of ways to experience the perfect honeymoon.

Planning A Gay Honeymoon In the Caribbean
The Caribbean is a dream honeymoon destination with its crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and warm tropical climate. Many resorts cater specifically to honeymooners with all-inclusive packages, private dining experiences, and spa treatments designed for two.
Beyond the beaches, the Caribbean offers a range of activities for adventurous couples. From snorkeling in the colorful reefs of the Bahamas to exploring rainforests in Dominica, there is plenty to discover. Food lovers can indulge in fresh seafood and island flavors, while history buffs can wander through colonial towns in Puerto Rico. Whether it is sailing at sunset, enjoying a beachfront dinner, or dancing to the rhythm of calypso, the Caribbean provides an unforgettable start to married life.
Legal protections for same-sex couples vary considerably from island to island across the Caribbean, so we focus our recommendations on destinations and properties with an established track record of welcoming same-sex couples, such as Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and the Dutch Caribbean. Our team handles that selection so couples can focus on choosing the experience they want rather than researching each island themselves.

Things To Do in the Caribbean
The Caribbean is a paradise for those who love sun, sea, and adventure. Snorkeling and scuba diving are a must, with coral reefs, shipwrecks, and marine life to explore. The Bahamas’ Blue Hole, Belize’s Great Barrier Reef, and Bonaire’s pristine waters are top spots. For a different kind of adventure, hike to the summit of St. Lucia’s Pitons, trek through Dominica’s lush rainforests, or enjoy the high society scene in Mustique. Sailing is also a great way to explore, whether it’s island-hopping around the British Virgin Islands or taking a catamaran cruise at sunset.
For a taste of Caribbean culture, visit historic sites like the forts of San Juan in Puerto Rico. The Caribbean is a big draw if you’re looking for rest and relaxation. The many 5-star hotels on offer provide the ideal setting for a romantic trip.

Best Caribbean Islands for Winter Sun
As the chill of winter settles in, a trip to the Caribbean might solve all your problems. Why shiver in a freezing cold city when you could be sitting on a beach in Aruba? Luxury Travel Experiences in the Caribbean You Haven’t Heard Of
The Caribbean is synonymous with white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and luxury resorts. But beyond the well-trodden tourist hotspots, this region is home to a treasure trove of unique and lesser-known experiences. If you’re seeking privacy, the Grenadines and the Exumas are secluded and exclusive. You may find yourself staying on a secluded private island or chartering a yacht to explore untouched cays.
ReadBest Time For A Gay Honeymoon In the Caribbean
December through April is the Caribbean’s dry season and by far the most popular window for a honeymoon, with warm, sunny days and minimal rain, though it is also the busiest and most expensive stretch, particularly over Christmas and New Year.
Hurricane season runs June through November, peaking in August, September, and October, and while a direct hit on any given island in any given week is unlikely, it is a real consideration for trip insurance and flexible booking. May and the second half of November offer a useful shoulder window, with good weather and considerably better rates than peak winter.
No two trips we plan are the same. Yours will be no exception.

Aruba and Curaçao pair naturally, sitting less than thirty minutes apart by air as two of the Dutch Caribbean’s ABC islands, and both now offer full marriage equality following a 2024 court ruling, making them an increasingly popular two-island combination.
Puerto Rico’s San Juan functions as a major regional hub, with short flights connecting on to several other islands on this list, making it a practical base for couples who want to add a second stop. St Barth’s, St Lucia, and Turks and Caicos are each more commonly booked as standalone resort honeymoons, given their distance from the other islands here.

Which Caribbean islands are safest and most welcoming for a gay honeymoon?
Legal protections vary considerably from island to island, so it is worth choosing deliberately. Our experts can help guide you as to which Caribbean island best fits your honeymoon plans and advise you as to the local laws. Rest assured, we ensure all tour guides and accommodations are welcoming of all.
How many days should we plan for a Caribbean honeymoon?
Seven to ten days is typical for a single-island honeymoon. Couples combining two islands, such as Aruba and Curaçao, should plan closer to ten to twelve days to allow time on each.
Is it better to book one island or combine two?
Both work well. A single exceptional resort suits couples who want to fully unplug, while combining Aruba and Curaçao, or using Puerto Rico as a base for a second stop, adds variety for couples who want a bit more to do beyond the beach.

The Southern Maldives: Pullman Maamutaa & Park Hyatt Hadahaa
Tailor-made VacationThe Southern Maldives operates on a different scale from the atolls clustered near Malé. Gaafu Alifu, where both properties sit, is roughly five to six hours away by speedboat, or a shorter domestic flight followed by a transfer, and that distance does the real work of keeping the atoll quiet. It filters out day-trippers, leaving reefs with far less traffic than the more accessible northern resorts.
